British Columbia Moose Hunting

Our 2500 sq mile area has one of the highest moose populations in North America. We have hundreds of lakes, swamps and three major river drainages that form a perfect moose habitat. Average bulls range from 40 to 50 inches.

The early season moose hunt (Sept 10 – Sept 19) is done mostly over water as bulls are feeding on aquatic plants at this time. We also hunt some parts of the high country. This hunt can be combined with Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Wolf and Deer.

The Moose rut hunts run traditionally between Sept 15 – Oct 15. During this time moose respond to calling and are usually very active. This hunt can be combined with Black Bear, Grizzly Bear, Wolf and Deer.

The late season hunt (Oct 26 – Nov 5) is excellent as well because we usually have snow which makes it easier to locate the moose. Moose are generally feeding on willows in logging areas, around lakes as well as in old burns. This hunt can be combined with Grizzly Bear, Wolf and Deer.

We are extremely successful hunting black bears with both rifle and archery equipment. Our territory varies from river bottoms, agricultural lands (which green up first) to high elevation country and alpine. This means we always have excellent hunting conditions. All hunting is done by “spot and stalk”, hunting old roads, burns and clear cuts.

Spring Black Bear hunts are conducted between May 1 – June 15.  At that time the pelts are in prime condition.

Spring Black Bear hunts offer bowhunters incredible opportunities for a trophy animal. Our hunting territory is perfect for spot and stalk type hunting. Most bowhunters have several stalk opportunites daily.

Our Fall Black Bear hunts are conducted between Aug 15 – Oct 1 and are usually part of a combination hunt with Deer,Grizzly, Wolf or Moose.

Color phase Bears are very common.

Cougar & Lynx Hunts

Cougar which are also known as a Mountain Lion or Puma mostly prey on deer, though they also eat smaller animals such as coyotes, porcupines, and raccoons. A beautiful and powerful predator, they usually hunt at night or during the hours before dawn and dusk.

Lynx are covered with beautiful thick fur that keeps them warm during frigid winters. Their paws are like natural snowshoes with furry toes that spread wide when they hit the ground, increasing the surface area and allowing the Lynx to stay mobile even in deep snow.

Cougar hunts start in November and run to March 31.

Lynx hunts start November 15 and run to February 15

We use dogs for both cougar and lynx hunts and the hunter may also hunt wolves at the same time if they wish.
